April 2022 Favorites!

Yikes!  I’m way late making this post!  It’s practically the middle of May already!  The main big thing we did that was a favorite in April was go to Walt Disney World, so prepare yourself for lots of Disney pics.

Favorite #1

The second Saturday of April, Big Eagle and I flew to Orlando and met up with Cara, Paul, and the girls in the Magic Kingdom!  We’d been planning this trip for over 2 years.  First we were going to go in December of 2020, but COVID kept us from making reservations.  Then we made reservations for December of 2021, but COVID again caused us to have to cancel. Third time was a charm, though, and we got to WDW without a hitch.  Yay!

Saturday & Sunday

Edie, me, and Helen on the tea cups!

With Belle in Epcot

Princess Helen trying on tiaras

All the walking wore us out!

Big Eagle and Edie after riding Journey into the Imagination with Figment

Cinderella’s Royal Table!

Monday morning we had reservations for breakfast inside Cinderella’s castle!

Paul, Edie, and Big Eagle
Helen, Cara, me, and Paul

Pastries and Fruit

Cara’s Breakfast

My breakfast – beef tenderloin recommended by our server

Helen’s Breakfast

Paul’s Breakfast – Avocado Toast

Edie’s Breakfast

Big Eagle’s Breakfast
After breakfast getting in the elevator to go back downstairs

Downstairs Cinderella was waiting to see the girls!

Took some time to visit the Grand Floridian Resort. Helen and Paul played one of their lawn games.

Back at the Magic Kingdom we “drove” cars at the Tomorrowland Speedway. Helen and Big Eagle shared a car.

Cara and I shared a car. She looked like this pretty much the whole time she was driving. Ha!

At Hollywood Studios on Tuesday

We seemed to get tired quick this day. Here we’re taking an extended break.

WDW is fun, but so is playing with the dirt!

Daisy and Donald of all places, above the restrooms!

We had dinner reservations at the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater. Highly recommend it!

Wednesday at Animal Kingdom

Just a few pics from this day.

We all got soaked on the Kali River Rapids! You can see Helen in the red on the ride and Paul and Cara to her right. Can’t see Edie…she’s to Helen’s left.

Got Helen this convertible dress at one of the shops in Animal Kingdom. She should have lots of fun styling it all the different ways!

That was just a fraction of the pictures I took!  But that was a bit of our WDW vacation fun. 😁

Puppies!  Who doesn’t love seeing puppies?  After we got home from Florida, I had to take Annie to the vet.  While we were waiting to be called in, I visited with the owner of these cute Golden Doodles.

I don’t think Annie even wanted to be photographed with them.  Ha!

So happy with the spring flowers this year!

The amaryllis by our mailbox has more blooms than it’s had any other year!

Big Eagle redid all of our flower beds this year, and when he did, he temporarily removed these amaryllis that our neighbor gave us years ago.  We wondered if they would still bloom.  And just look at them!  Gorgeous!

And these are the amaryllis that were my mom’s from Florida.  Also more blooms than ever this year!

We’ve been only getting one or two of our purple irises to bloom every year.  But now that the tree they were surrounding has been removed, they are thriving again!  If you look closely, you can see there are lots of blooms that haven’t opened up yet, too.  The stump is being taken out in a couple of weeks, so I’ll be relocating these irises once they’ve finished blooming.

When Big Eagle repainted the outside of the house, he also removed the old wooden railing we had on the front porch.  In April he put up a new aluminum railing.  It looks great!  Here’s a before and after for you.  We were having new doors installed when I took the before picture, so the porch is a bit of a mess.

We started enjoying a few of the fresh veggies from our garden in April, and that’s always a favorite!

Radishes are always the first to be ready!

I took this picture of the first snow peas on April 21st.

And while we aren’t enjoying these yet, Big Eagle and I both were surprised to see plum tomatoes setting in April!  We’ve never had them set that early before!

Favorite #6

I’ve found a quick, easy lunch that I love!

I’ve tried some of the other P.F. Chang’s frozen meals, but this is the one I really like and keep buying.

I add my broccoli from the produce department and snow peas from the garden.  A little splash of soy sauce, and it’s good to go.  Yum!

This past April set records in our area for being windy!  Now it looks like May is going to set records for being HOT!  We’re already in the 90s every day, and now they’re predicting we may hit triple digits before the month is over.  Crazy!

If you have any April favorites or anything else to share, I hope you’ll do it in the comment section.  Today is Friday, so I hope you have a great weekend!

Pictures are great !! Girls differently models. The girls are going to Disney in the fall break. Universal. Glad you all got out together , sure is fun with kids. We had a terrible spring 10 below average. My garden isn’t to great. What a mess. Few things are ok. But overall my worst one. We are planning on moving so I think we are thinking of that. Moving up in top field. To much work for us here. The fields and pool. Plus we are downsizing. We be right next to Sara. Been designing this house for over a month. But I guess we figure it out !! Lol. 1770 square ft. Smaller but we don’t need all this. No steps , shower flat walk in one etc. well close for now.

So glad you were able to enjoy WDW! Great pics! All of the flowers in your yard are beautiful, and the porch looks great. The black railing with the new white paint makes a nice contrast.
