Update on Spring 2019 Bucket List

My spring bucket list, update, 04.2019

Back on March 26th, I posted my first seasonal bucket list linking up with Leslie at OnceUponaTimeHappilyEverAfter. Dang!  Almost a month has gone by, and it’s already time for an update on how I’m progressing.

What follows is a little bit shortened version of what my Spring bucket list looks like, and after each item, I give the update as to where I am so far.

Health & Fitness

  1. Apply the prescription cream to the designated area on my face to treat the precancerous basal cell carcinoma.  UPDATE:  This one is done!  And when I treated the top of my nose, as my dermatologist had instructed me to, I also treated a flaky spot that’s been bugging me just above my lip.  I saw my dermatologist today, and she said all is looking good!  No new areas needing treatment.  That’s always a relief to hear!
  2. Stay on top of my training schedule for RAGBRAI.  UPDATE:  Haven’t biked ALL the days on the schedule, but I’ve done enough of them and at some of the longer distances, that I feel okay on this one for now.  And my bum feels fine, so I figure that’s a pretty good compass.  Ha!

Joy:

  1. Eat at least one meal per week “al fresco”.  UPDATE:  My first al fresco meal was actually this past Saturday night when Big Eagle and I went out to eat at Rio Mambo.  It was the first Saturday night that was nice enough to eat outside without being too cold or getting soaked.  So not too good on this one, but with the weather improving greatly now, I see this being much easier to accomplish from here on out.
  2. Treat myself to a mani/pedi.  UPDATE:  This one hasn’t happened yet.  I’m thinking maybe next week.
  3. Create and hang my gallery wall.  This will be a biggie if it gets done.  UPDATE:  Well, I said it would be a biggie if it got done, and so far…no progress.  I haven’t given up, though!  There’s still time!

Learning & Growth

  1. Return to my fiddle lessons.  UPDATE:  Another one that hasn’t happened yet.  I’ve still got my sights set on it, though.
  2. Choose a new Bible study and complete it.  UPDATE:  I have chosen it!  It’s a 30-day devotional called The Art of Listening Prayer.  I’ve read the acknowledgements and introduction so far, but haven’t gotten into the meat of anything yet.  When I read Prayer Can Change Your Life (which I reviewed here), I learned that part of that prayer therapy was listening for God’s response.  I find this difficult, and I’m hoping to find help through this study.

Relationships

  1. Do a First Monday weekend with Big Eagle.  UPDATE:  During the First Monday at the beginning of this month the weather was chilly and wet, so this has not been completed yet.  The next one is the weekend of May 4th, so I’m hoping for better weather that weekend.
  2. Connect with a friend or family member at least once a week.  (Texting or messaging through social media does NOT count.  Phone conversations, e-mail, snail mail, or face-to-face DOES.)  UPDATE:  I’m proud to say that I am 100% on this one!  Yay me!

So I would say I’m not doing too bad here with a couple of months to go in Spring still.  How about you?  What are you hoping to accomplish this Spring?  Or perhaps there are things you wanted to complete that you’ve already done just one month in.  I’d love for you to share in the comments.  And I hope that wherever you are, your weather is becoming more spring-like!
