This is a L-O-N-G overdue post today! Around mid-October, my dog Annie died, so that pretty much overshadowed everything else for a while. I’m still missing her. The house seems lonely without her in it. There WERE favorite moments during the month, though, and life does go on, so the happy moments need to be shared. I’m starting it off with some news I’ve been keeping bottled up for quite some time now, so let’s get to it!

I’m finally allowed to spill the beans!
Erin and Danny are expecting their first child! YEP! Around mid-April Erin should be ushering our first grandson into the world! She showed me a sonogram, and he is beautiful! A beautiful, wonderful miracle! So tiny! So beautiful! Here are the parents-to-be holding up a couple of onesies that Cara sent for them:

I had a Facetime call from Cara the day after Annie died. Edie wanted me to see her with the candy lips I had bought her when I was there in September.
After I took this screen shot, I remembered that I had taken a similar picture of her sister Helen years earlier.
A fun call and a fun memory…both cheered me up! 🥰

The following weekend, our friends Lora and Denny were here overnight. It’s always a good visit with them. Big Eagle and I made an Octoberfest-themed meal, and the four of us had dinner out on the patio, played a few games of Quirkle, and had cheesecake for dessert later.

You may or may not remember this picture from my September favorites:
Cara and I worked together to make a dress that would be Helen’s Halloween costume. Here Cara is holding up one side of the back after she had sewed in the godet.
I was so excited to see the final product when she posted a picture of her and the girls in their costumes!
I think the dress came out perfectly! Now unless you’re familiar with the show Dr. Who, you won’t have a clue as to what Helen’s costume is. If you do watch the show, then you will know that she is the TARDIS. Super cute! Cara is so creative when it comes to Halloween costumes!

At the end of October, on the 25th, Big Eagle and I flew to Lithuania to visit Danny and Erin in Vilnius! We had an amazing time, and Vilnius is quite an interesting, charming, and unique city.
While we were there, Erin had her fall break from teaching. The four of us used that time to travel to Poland. My next post will be all about our trip!
In the meantime, here’s wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!
